Nigerian Blog Awards - Nominations/Votes Needed

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii,

I seem overly excited, don't I? Well, yes I am. And why is that, you ask? Well, I shall tell you right now. Someone who commented on one of my posts, and my "cousin" separately said they'd nominate me for a NIGERIAN BLOG AWARD!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooooooooooooo hoooooooooooo! *does victory dance*

So, now I gotta publicize it and ask y'all to join in please! It'd be so awesome to win somn for this blog. OMG, I'm going to write a speech just in case! And I wonder if there's an actual award ceremony. There's this dress I got made for my sister's wedding last year that I never wore and... Ok, Berry calm down! *whew, I kinda started getting carried away there* Sawry :)

Okay, so how do we get this thing done? Please note the deadline is September 23rd!!!
  1. Click on the following link: Nigerian Blog Awards Nominations
  2. Fill out the form - name/email
  3. Nominate me for the categories you think I fall under, by pasting " http://ajebutternysc.blogspot.com/" in the appropriate boxes.
  4. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page
  5. Go to your email inbox (or spam/junk folder) and click on the link sent by Nigerian Blog Awards, so that your nomination counts
  6. Voila! You have done a BERRY good thing and will be infused with BERRY love forever, whatever that means.
I went through the list, and the ones I think pertain to this blog are:
  • Best Humour Blog -  Blog that is amusing or lighthearted in nature.
  • Best New Blog - not NEWS Blog o -  Blog established in August 2011 or more recently.
  • Best Topical Blog -  Blog with a clear niche that is not represented in any of the other categories.
  • Best Tutorial Blog -  Blog that focuses on teaching its readers through the use of step-by-step instructions.
  • Nigerian Blog of the Year -  Best overall blog by a Nigerian or best blog with a strong focus on any aspect of Nigeria.

Truth is I'm not 100% sure which of the categories are appropriate. But the Nigerian Blog Awards staff will remove the nomination from the incorrect categories, so hey.

Preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty please nominate me!!! I'll make berry smoothies for you and send authentic berry kisses to you if you do :)

HUGS!!!!

  1. Hi Berry, I already nominated you so not to worry. You're doin a great job here. So right now, I want to find out some very important info. about the nysc camp. I really hope you can help. I don't know how possible it would be for me to leave the camp in the middle somewhere to go for an exam. Would d camp officials allow me? Also, I
heard that the lagos camp is kinda 'friendlier' than the others, I don't know how far this is true, so wats your take on this? Ehm I'll be goin for the batch c in november. Thanks for the help

    1. Yay, thanks!

Well, what some people do is come with evidence of why they need to leave camp - mostly medical issues that require offsite care. Alternatively, if you have a rapport with someone in authority that can help you get an exit pass, then that could work as well. When I was in camp (Lagos), it was waaaay overcrowded, that they actually begged people to apply for exit passes.

  2. hello im looking to go with the batch c but im yet to recieve the physical copy of my transcript from my uni. However, they did send me a scanned copy. Do you think i would be allowed to register with the scanned copy? Also ild be leaving the camp early to attend my grad. can that be a valid reason? Lastly, i may not serve for the whole 12months as i have to go for my masters say may or september 2013. would i still get the nysc certificate of completion after my batch has passed out?

Lol im sorry too many issues.

    1. Hey there. Lol, let's tackle this one by one, shall we?

#1. All documents have to be original. No copies, no scans.

#2. Erm, you can try giving that excuse, but keep your fingers crossed.

#3. Hmmmm. You have to serve the whole time. It's either you do all of it, or very little to none of it and instead "work it." I know someone whose cousin did camp, went back to England and came back to pick up her certificate. Seeing as I've done things as straightly as possible, I wouldn't know the first thing about "working" it. #MissGoodyTwoShoes

    3. Hi, oops, I'm only just seeing this. I'm not 100% sure if you can choose whether you teach, work in health, rural government or health (there are the only options as mandated by NYSC since 2012 Batch A)? I imagine they would post you depending on your degree.

  3. i finally got my transcript. I then travelled to abuja last week but couldnt register because i didnt have my certificate. My graduation is in November so there is no way i could have gotten the certificate before then. Anyways im now looking to go with batch A in feburary but i have to leave for grad school in may. so i may decide to work my way to teach in my mum's school that way i am covered. Then return for my clearance and stuff.

    1. Eek! This whole time you asked about being let off for graduation, it didn't register that you aren't done and so wouldn't have your diploma #PlatinumBlondeMoment on my part!

Yeah, if you can work it to serve in your mum's school, do that. It'll make your life so much easier.
